New ‘My Money’ App from SDC
Wednesday, November 7, 2018
Very young bank customers and customers with simple needs are now getting an app to help them keep track of their money. The new app is for all banks using SDC’s online banking solution, and Middelfart Sparekasse is the first to provide this new option for customers.
SDC develops IT solutions for more than 120 different banks in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The latest addition to their range is the ‘My Money’ app. It has been designed specifically for children who receive pocket money, but can also be used by anyone who needs an especially simple overview of his or her account.
Less is Enough
‘My Money’ enables users to see their balance and amounts that have been deposited into, or withdrawn, from their account. That’s it, and that’s the point. A 10-year-old child with a debit card does not need any other mobile banking features. The finishing touch that lends the app its own special identity is the ability to add a profile photo and background image.
SDC aims to develop the app further in the future, so it can help familiarise children and young people with finances and equip them to handle their own money matters.
A Further Step on the Journey
The new money app is based on Sitecore, React and React Native. It is the latest solution to result from the collaboration between SDC and Magnetix. Springtime saw the launch of a new open banking platform that enables third-party providers to create customer experiences in what had been a closed shop. In April, BankNordik launched four sites and during autumn another four banks are expected to follow suit. Now it is ‘My Money’s’ turn, which will be launched initially in Middelfart Sparekasse. All bank clients in the SDC fold can also look forward to the new online banking and mobile banking solutions that are in the pipeline.
